Lee Cunningham Paull Jr. was born December 10, 1911, in Wheeling, the son of Lee C. Paull and Mary Glessner Paull. He attended Linsly Military Institute, Lawrenceville School, and Carnegie Tech (Mellon). Following his education, Paull joined the family insurance business in 1931, becoming vice president in 1946 and president in 1957. Upon the sale of the insurance business in 1977, he continued as chairman of the board, overseeing Lee C. Paull, Inc. and its affiliated companies including the Guaranty Co., Belmont Industrial Park, and Lee C. Paull Inc. of Washington, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, West Virginia Society. Paull was deeply involved in Wheeling's civic life, serving as president of the Community Fund in 1941, vice president of Oglebay Institute, and on numerous boards including National Exchange Bank, Wheeling Steel Corp., and Ohio Valley Medical Center. He was a member and former trustee of Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church. Paull married three times: Sarah List Paull (died 1940), Josephine Taylor Paull (died 1972), and Nancy Tileston Paull. His son Morgan Paull became a noted actor, appearing in films including "Patton" and "Blade Runner." Lee C. Paull Jr. died October 23, 1992, at age 80, and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery.
