Rocky Fitzsimmons, born Robert J. Fitzsimmons on March 5, 1979, in Wheeling, West Virginia, is a well-known attorney and former state senator. He grew up in Wheeling, attending Wheeling Central Catholic High School. Fitzsimmons pursued higher education at Washington University in St. Louis, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2001. He then earned his Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2004.
Fitzsimmons joined the Fitzsimmons Law Firm, based in Warwood, West Virginia, where he focused on personal injury, wrongful death, insurance bad faith, and other legal areas. He has secured multiple million-dollar settlements for his clients and has been recognized as a West Virginia Super Lawyer Rising Star in personal injury litigation and sports and entertainment law.
On December 26, 2012, Governor Earl Ray Tomblin appointed Fitzsimmons to the West Virginia Senate, representing the 1st Senatorial District. He served until December 1, 2014, and was involved in various committees, including Banking and Insurance, Judiciary, and Transportation and Infrastructure. Fitzsimmons also co-hosts a weekly radio talk show, "The Legislative Watchdogs," on AM 1600 WKKX, covering national, state, and local political issues.
