Harvey Bender Reppetto was born on March 17, 1886, in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was a prominent figure in the industrial affairs of Wheeling, known for his significant contributions to the city's manufacturing sector. Harvey was the son of Granville C. Reppetto, who founded the Wheeling Stove & Range Company in 1900. This company became one of the largest stove industries in the country under the leadership of the Reppetto family.
Harvey Bender Reppetto received his education in the public schools of Wheeling and graduated from the Linsly Institute in 1903. He joined his father's business and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a traveling salesman for the Wheeling Stove & Range Company. In 1913, when his father retired, Harvey took over the management of the company. Under his leadership, the company continued to expand and gain a wider market for its products.
In 1920, Harvey sold the Wheeling Stove & Range Company to the Wheeling Steel Corporation but continued to manage the stove department until his resignation in June 1921. After leaving the company, he established the Wheeling Metal Specialties Company, which focused on jobbing stoves and refrigerators. This new venture allowed Harvey to continue his involvement in the manufacturing industry and contribute to the economic growth of Wheeling.
Harvey Bender Reppetto passed away on August 17, 1940, in Grayling, Michigan. He was buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Fremont, Ohio. His legacy in Wheeling's industrial history remains significant, as he played a crucial role in the development and success of the city's manufacturing sector.
