Abigail Hing Wen, born Abigail Geraldine Lim Hing in 1977 in Wheeling, West Virginia, is a renowned author, film producer, lawyer, and public speaker. She is the daughter of ethnic Chinese immigrants and grew up in Solon, Ohio. Wen attended Solon High School, where she was the valedictorian and one of 120 U.S. Presidential Scholars, an honor that allowed her to meet President Bill Clinton. She was invited by the Taiwanese government to attend a study tour program at Chien Tan, which inspired her debut novel, "Loveboat, Taipei." Wen earned her B.A. magna cum laude in government and international relations from Harvard University, where she wrote her senior thesis on China under Professor Roderick MacFarquhar. She also holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Wen's career spans law, technology, and literature. She worked on Capitol Hill for the Senate Judiciary Committee, clerked for Judge Judith W. Rogers on the United States Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit, and practiced law at Sullivan & Cromwell and Covington & Burling. Her debut novel, "Loveboat, Taipei," became a New York Times Bestseller and was adapted into a film by ACE Entertainment, released on Paramount+ in 2023. Wen continues to write and speak on topics such as artificial intelligence, women's leadership, and equity.
