William Edward "B.E." Taylor (March 18, 1951 - August 7, 2016) was born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. He was a singer-songwriter and frontman for the pop rock band B.E. Taylor Group. He had great success with the group in the 1980s, including a Billboard Hot 100 hit with "Vitamin L" in 1984. In the mid-1980s, Taylor moved to Wheeling, West Virginia. There he launched a second career as a solo artist and Christmas performer, releasing several Christmas albums and touring a popular annual Christmas show. Taylor performed over 40 times at the Capitol Theatre in Wheeling over the years. He won many awards, including the Duquesne University Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. After being diagnosed with brain cancer in 2007, Taylor continued to tour and record up until his death from the disease in 2016 at age 65. He made Wheeling his home for over 30 years, finding great success and acclaim there as a beloved musician.
