Edgwood Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 1154 National Road in Wheeling, West Virginia, grew out of a Sunday School for community children organized by members of First English Lutheran Church in downtown Wheeling. The church was completed and dedicated on May 19, 1918. Over the years, Edgwood Lutheran Church had been linked with several other Lutheran congregations, including Warwood Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church in South Wheeling, and Zion Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. As the population decreased in the Wheeling area, Edgwood Lutheran Church experienced declining membership. In 2015, the congregation voted to form Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Zion Lutheran Church, and on January 17, 2016, Edgwood Evangelical Lutheran Church held its final service as the congregation prepared to merge with Grace Lutheran Church.
