George Mathew Kellas II was a beloved sports broadcaster and radio talk show host from Wheeling, West Virginia, who passed away in 2009 at the age of 53 after battling esophageal cancer. Kellas had a long career in radio and TV sports broadcasting starting in 1977, spending many years as a sports anchor at local TV stations WTRF-TV and WTOV-TV where he covered Steelers games. He was also the founder and co-owner of the Ohio Valley Greyhounds football team. In 2004 he started the George Kellas Radio Talk Show on WKKX AM 1600. Kellas was very passionate about sports in the Ohio Valley region. After his passing, he was posthumously inducted into the OVAC Hall of Fame in 2015 in recognition of his contributions to local sports.
