The Fort Henry Club was an exclusive men's club in Wheeling, West Virginia that opened in 1890 after prominent businessmen purchased and renovated the former 1850 Howell Mansion into a Neoclassical structure designed by architect Edward Franzheim. It served as a social club and temporary lodging for wealthy members and hosted famous guests like Charles Lindbergh and Babe Ruth before declining membership forced it to close in 2011 after over 120 years of operation. The property was purchased by St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, situated opposite the Fort Henry Club Building. Later, in September 2013, McKinley & Associates assumed ownership of the structure and initiated substantial renovation efforts.
