George Emblen and William O'Neal were arrested for robbing several robberies in Wheeling. They confessed to robbing Harry McNamee’s Jewelry Store on Market Street, the home of Lou Heiner, and the home of Walter Williams. Emblen and O’Neal were suspected in other thefts. Most of the stolen goods, including watches, jewelry, and silver items, were recovered buried on the G.W. Nichols Farm, beyond Mount Wood. The men did not seem to have any plan for the stolen items and admitted committing the crimes for the thrill. Both were jailed, while a third accomplice in one robbery was still at large.
