The Rogers Hotel opened in 1915 as a modern, fireproof hotel on 14th Street in downtown Wheeling and operated until 1990; after sitting vacant for many years, Mark Jaber, the current owner has slowly renovated parts of the building, opening "Jimmy Gyro", a small restaurant on the ground floor while still working to fully restore the upper floors. The restaurant has since closed.
The historic 6-story hotel with 75 rooms was once a popular lodging spot but fell into disrepair over the decades before the current owner bought it in 2005 hoping to convert it into a casino. (https://tinyurl.com/mf5ryjeh) (https://tinyurl.com/4pm6nz4e) (https://tinyurl.com/y6ymbk95)
