Edward B. Carney was a prominent hotelier in Wheeling, West Virginia, owning and operating the Windsor Hotel for many years. He was born in Maryland but came to Wheeling early in life and married the daughter of pioneer residents. Carney died at age 75 after a long illness, closing a long and successful career in the hotel business, having managed hotels in Maryland before moving to Wheeling and eventually buying and presiding over the Windsor Hotel company.
