The Germania Half Dollar Savings bank in Wheeling, West Virginia, unveiled its new banking house at the corner of Market and Fifteenth streets. Designed by Fred F. Faris, the building featured modern architecture and fireproof construction. The spacious interior boasted marble wainscoting, a large dome skylight, and a reinforced concrete vault. The bank, founded in 1897, had become a prominent financial institution in the area, serving reputable depositors and earning a strong reputation for its honest dealings. In subsequent years, the bank underwent name changes, becoming Half Dollar Savings Bank in 1918 and Half Dollar Trust & Savings Bank in 1929. (https://rb.gy/r3hvy) (https://rb.gy/olm5f)
