Today in Wheeling History: July 6--The Boreman Rangers were officially inducted into the U.S. service and have established their camp on Wheeling Island. To fully complement the Company, there was a need for fifteen additional men. Individuals who were interested in volunteering were encouraged to report to Captain W. H. Shanley or Lieutenant Dawson at Lafayette Hall, located on Monroe Street (now 12th Street) (1863). (https://rb.gy/31cnn)
