Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ukrainian Catholic Church in Wheeling was founded in 1911 by Ukrainian immigrants seeking to preserve their Byzantine heritage. After meeting in homes, they bought land in 1912 and built their first church in 1913. Over the years they paid off loans, renovated, and built a new church in 1974-75.
