The Bank of Warwood was chartered and incorporated on March 16, 1911, with initial capital stock of $25,000. A two-story red brick bank building designed by Wheeling architect M.F. Geisey was constructed in 1913 at 1701 Warwood Ave. On January 2, 1974, the bank became the Bank of Warwood National Association, changing from a non-member bank to a national bank. It was later renamed First West Virginia Bank in 1976 and then Progressive Bank in 1995. The original Bank of Warwood building was demolished in 2015 to make way for a new Progressive Bank building. On May 21, 2018, Progressive Banks converted to Community Banks.
