Glen Dale native and country music singer Brad Paisley was hospitalized in Wheeling Hospital over the Christmas holiday in 1992 for pneumonia. On December 23rd, Paisley finished a performance at Oglebay Park's Festival of Lights before falling ill. He was admitted to the hospital on December 24th and remained there receiving treatment for pneumonia until being released on December 27th. Though falling sick forced Paisley to spend Christmas Day in the hospital, it seems his bout with pneumonia was temporary as the budding musician recovered after a few days of treatment. This health scare occurred early on as the West Virginia native's career was kicking off, but it did not prevent Paisley from continuing his rise to fame as an award-winning country star in the years that followed.
